Here's how to make the most of comfort cooling:

  • Set the thermostat to the desired indoor temperature: The set temperature should be lower than the current indoor temperature.
  • Keep the sun out of the home: Close sun blinds, shades, or curtains as much as possible during the day.
  • Keep windows and doors closed: This helps to maintain a cooler and more comfortable indoor environment. If you need to open windows, do so during cooler times of the day, such as early in the morning or late in the evening.
  • Understand that floor cooling is not air conditioning: Cooling via the floor is much slower and can only lower the temperature by a few degrees compared to the outside temperature. Therefore, the indoor temperature is not the sole factor.

During extremely high temperatures, the indoor environment may not be as comfortably cool as with air conditioning. It is especially important to keep windows and curtains closed to prevent the indoor temperature from rising too much.
